We have been doing our best to adapt, take the necessary precautions, and then adapt again to the protocols and the ever-changing rules set forth by the current Covid-19 landscape. If you want to dine with us and would like to know what to expect, here are the answers to several Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you take reservations?
After serious consideration, Blue Moon Beach Grill made the decision to continue with the business model we have successfully implemented over the last 11 years. In order for us to maximize our revenue and make it “to the other side” of this crisis, reservations are not in our best interest. In order to help with the crowds, we ask that you send one person from your party in to speak with the host. If we are on a wait, we will take your cell phone and text you when your table is ready. We ask that you wait inside your car…. or the beach! Whatever makes it more enjoyable for you.
Is outside dining available?
Weather permitting, YES! While we are operating at a limited capacity, we will utilize the outdoor deck. Keep in mind, we cannot be responsible for bugs, weather, or wind. Keep your distance and enjoy your meal!
Are you still offering take-out?
Yes…and sometimes no. Now that we have more folks dining inside, we’ve had to scale back our take-out operation. Take-out is a whole different ballgame with a lot of factors to consider. We want to make sure the quality of our food, for both those dining inside and at home, is up to our standards. So, there may be times when we cannot offer your meal to-go. Interested in placing an order? Just give us a ring at 252.261.BLUE. You may pay by credit card over the phone or with cash on arrival. We will have designated parking for your pick-up.
Are face masks required?
Per Governor Cooper’s order, masks must be worn in the state of North Carolina in public spaces when social distancing cannot occur. Because of the rapid increase in coronavirus cases, we ALL need to do our part – regardless of your opinion on the issue. (Children 12 & Under are excluded.)
If you would like to dine at Blue Moon Beach Grill, a mask must be worn to enter our restaurant and while navigating through the interior of our building.
No Shirt. No Shoes. No Mask. No Service.
What safety protocols have you implemented?
Our daily operations are rigorous. Blue Moon Beach Grill is ServSafe certified. We have always practiced safe food handling, copious hand washing, etc. However, with our current situation, we have initiated additional sanitation procedures. In order to provide enough space (6′ or more) between tables, we have rented an additional 500 sq. feet.
This is hard folks, and we ask that you are patient with us. We all are in uncharted waters. Everything we do feels foreign, takes more time and costs more, so please bear with us. Having said this, we honestly believe if we frame this with a positive foundation, we can deliver a “once in a Blue Moon” dining experience. Some day you can look back and say, “Wow, that vacation meal we had at Blue Moon was unique, fun and delicious.” Cheers and bon appetit!
