Our Space.

Blue Moon Beach Grill is tucked away in the corner of Surfside Plaza, located at MP 13 in the historic district of Nags Head. Blue Moon opened in February, 2009......during the dead of winter and at the height of the recession. While located in a shopping plaza, we felt that the space had much to offer. Our location offered beach road and by-pass access, had ample parking, and was located in the most quaint, historic section of Nags Head. Forging ahead, by the end of 2010 Blue Moon Beach Grill needed to expand. Our expansion has been comprehensive, but yet we remain the small, 58 seat, neighborhood restaurant that was our original vision. By expanding the kitchen and bar, adding a waiting area, and creating a larger dining area, the restaurant is better able to provide a great dining experience for our guests. Our roots run deep into the soul of Nags Head with our Surfside Plaza location.

Our interior is decorated with local art and beach combed artifacts.  Hundreds of found buoys, fish mounts, oars, an antique anchor, and other nautical items are local artifacts that represent the rough and tumble life on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  The copper bar top and table tops simulate the ebb and flow of our tides, the floor speaks to the sunshine and sand that we all love, and the art work represents the many local artisans that make their home on the Outer Banks.

We invite you to kick back and soak up our vibe.  We hope that you enjoy Blue Moon Beach Grill, and “taste life on a sandbar” with a “once and a blue moon” experience.  Cheers and bon appétit!
